Fall wardrobes are arguably some of the best of the year. Personally I gravitate towards creams and browns and rusts so the fall color palette has always appealed to me. One thing I am guilty of is over purchasing and then not getting enough wear out of my clothes. I’ve decided to try a capsule wardrobe approach to this season to help simplify my wardrobe. Here are my picks for a neutral fall capsule wardrobe to wear this season.

Tops

Keeping this capsule wardrobe neutral ensures you’ll get the most bang for your buck because everything can be mixed and matched!
Bottoms

I live in New England and the weather gets cold quickly. Because of this, I tend to gravitate towards pants versus skirts in the fall. You can’t go wrong with a good pair of black skinny jeans. Straight leg jeans are also very popular right now and pair well with shorter booties.
Dresses

I love the look of layering a dress with a sweater over top in the fall and winter. Slip dresses are so versatile and can be worn all year long.
Outerwear

A fall capsule wardrobe is all about the layering. Adding a different outer layer over a neutral outfit can change how the entire outfit looks. Cardigans are always a classic, but I also love a moto jacket for a bit of an edgier look. I’ve even ventured into the land of shakets this year and surprisingly have liked the outfits I’ve put together with them.
Shoes

Give me all the boots and booties for fall and winter. I’ve been loving Chelsea boots this year, and wore them the entire time I was in Germany. A classic white sneaker is always good to have for more casual outfits.
