Zero Mess At Home Gel Manicure

at home gel manicure

I go through phases with my nails. There was a point in time where I was getting dip manicures every 2 weeks. Then to save some money I switched back to at home manicures. I’ve tried press on nails and nail stickers and have had success with all of them. My newest, and new favorite way to do my nails is with the Dashing Diva Glaze semi-cured gel nail strips. Here is my review of this zero mess at home gel manicure.

Nail Prep

Make sure your nails are nice and clean. They provide an alcohol wipe to clean off your nails, and a wooden stick to push back your cuticles.

Application

These gel strips apply like any nail sticker. There are 34 strips in each pack so there is sure to be a perfect fit for each of your nails. Find the size you need, peel off the protective film from the top and place the strip on your nail. It’s important to make sure there are no bubbles in the strip and that the strip is pressed down fully on your nail. Cut off the excess strip with nail clippers and file down. You cure the nails for 45 seconds using the LED mini lamp you can purchase separately.

Wear

These nail strips held up amazingly! There was absolutely no chipping like I usually get with regular gel nail polish. I did notice that scuff marks and scratches were noticeable on the polish after a couple days, but this didn’t bother me too much. I will also note you need to make sure to get rid of any bubbles and imperfections in the strips before curing them. Once they are cured you cannot fix them. For a couple of the strips I didn’t press down fully and it left a gap where hair could get caught later.

Removal

To remove the strips you just add some cuticle oil to the nail bed and gently lift the strip from the nail. There was no damage to my natural nails and I loved that I didn’t have to soak my nails in acetone.

Final Thoughts

I think this is a really great way to get a long lasting at home gel manicure. The application process is fast and mess free and I didn’t have to worry about my nails chipping like with regular polish. There are so many different colors and patterns to choose from as well. I would definitely recommend this at home gel manicure and will be using these products again in the future.
