Hi everyone! I figured it would be nice to do a post introducing myself so you all have a better idea of who I am.
My name is Stephanie and I was born/raised and live in Connecticut. I stayed local for school, getting my Bachelors of Science in Biology from Eastern Connecticut State University. I went on to Optometry school at MCPHS University in Worcester, MA where I earned my Doctorate of Optometry. Yup that’s right, I’m an eye doctor, and I’ve been working as an Optometrist for over 4 years now! If any of my friends or family members have an eye related question, they make sure to text me right away haha.

I live in southeastern CT with my boyfriend and our borderdoodle, Dwayne! Dwayne makes some appearances on my Instagram (@styledblush) and has his own page (@dwaynetheborderdoodle) where I share a lot of really cute pics of him. I’m definitely biased, but he is the cutest, sweetest dog there is.

I turned 30 this year which wasn’t as daunting as I expected it to be haha. I got to celebrate my birthday on a beach in Mexico, which was exactly what I wanted to do. Speaking of the beach, I absolutely love going to the beach as much as possible. I was super excited to move closer to the beach when I got my first job down here. I’ve definitely taken advantage of living a couple miles from our local beach!

Traveling has always been an interest on mine. My boyfriend and I have been on some really awesome trips over the years. My favorite places I’ve been so far are Iceland, Spain (sangria!!), Portugal, and Colombia. I’m writing this post on the day I was originally scheduled to hike the Grand Canyon :/. With COVID we had to cancel all our trips, so here’s hoping to planning some great adventures once everything is blown over and safe!
I love yoga, and have been pretty consistent with a practice for the last couple of years. As a kid I was always super flexible, and I’d like to get back to that level of flexibility some day. Over the last year or so I’ve become really interested in chakras and crystals and learning about balancing my energies. I’m by no means and expert, but I try to implement some form of meditation/essential oil blend/intention setting daily to help keep myself aligned.

Another big passion of mine would be houseplants! I used to have a serious black thumb. Multiple cacti have met their demise at my hands. When we moved into our house we decided some air purifying plants would be a worthwhile investment. I’m happy to report that 3 years later, my plants are going strong! I’ve learned so much about houseplants over the last few years and I’ve added A LOT to my collection haha. My goal is to have a house full of plants one day, because I can’t deny how happy they make me!
Alright, so that’s a little about me. I hope this gives you a better picture of who I am and what makes me tick. Thank you so much for reading!
